Upgrade!

March 1, 2013

I woke up early this morning to get back out on the road. Early being 5:30am. I had to leave the house by 5am and drive to Springfield Airport. When I arrived it was freezing, and slightly snowing- which made walking into the airport from where I parked my car not so fun! I got checked in and I ended up upgrading to first class for my second flight- only because it ended up costing me $10. That's worth it!

After I went through security, I bought a water and a Kellogg's Pastry Crisps. (I do really like them- even though they are not the most nutritious, but they aren't high in calorie, so that is good!) I sat at my gate and ate my pastry crisp breakfast.

First Class lunch.
Soon I was on the first plane to Dallas. I slept the whole way! I haven't been feeling good, so I am trying to get lots of rest! Trying so hard not to get sick before the gig! In Dallas I went to my next gate and then I just sat there- for quite a while, but eventually I was sitting in my nice first class seat and on my way to Sacramento. For lunch in First Class, I got a cup of nuts, then a very tiny side salad, chicken and rice, and a role. They also gave us dessert- a cookie. (Very warm and yummy cookie!)

I napped a bit more before we landed. Sadly, when I got there I had to wait an hour for Dad and Tim to get in. (They were supposed to get in before me, but their flight was delayed...) Then we drove the 30 minutes to Thunder Valley Casino Resort. We got there by 4pm. It really is a lovely place!

I went down to the gym, and it was a great gym! Great treadmills, and great weights- even though I had issues with the leg machines. The free weights were good! Since I am a bit under the weather, and trying to not get worse, I went very easy on the weights. I was really just trying to get blood moving! Plus, I felt a bit sluggish from all the flying. It does seem to wear my body down a bit! But I did a pretty nice workout. Here is what I did -

  • Cardio - 30 minutes - 2.29 miles [All at 0 incline unless otherwise noted] (2min at 6mph, 1min at 3.8mph, 2min at 6.5mph, 1min at 3.8mph, 2min at 6mph, 1min at 3.8mph, 2 min at 6.5mph, 1min at 3.8mph, 2min at 6mph, 2min at 3.8mph, 1min at 3.8mph at 3 incline, 1min at 3.8mph at 4 incline, 1min at 3.8mph at 3 incline, 2min at 3.8mph at 0 incline, 1min at 3.8mph at 4 incline, 1min at 3.8mph at 5 incline, 1min at 3.8mph at 4 incline, 2min at 3.8mph at 0 incline, 1min at 3.8mph at 3 incline, 1min at 3.8mph at 4 incline, 1min at 3.8mph at 3 incline, 1min at 3.8mph at 0 incline.)
  • Weights - Circuit - 400 movements total - 25 shoulder presses with two 10lb free weights, 25 sit ups, 10 lateral raises with two 8lb free weights, 15 bicep curls with two 8lb free weights, 25 crunches. Repeat 3 more times.

By the time I was done, I was late for dinner! So I ran and changed as quick as I could and met Dad downstairs. We went to the Steakhouse, "High Steaks". It was incredible. I splurged and had two rolls- two different flavors, and then I had their farmers market salad which had fresh fruit in it, and then I had the Ahi Tuna Poke with seaweed salad under it, and a side of sauteed mushrooms. It was all incredible! So fresh and yummy! I loved it!

Then I went back up to my room to relax. A nice bath... Watched a movie... Beautiful night!
